I'm so happy because all my finals are finally over! That said, I no longer have any excuse for eating poorly and not working out. I haven't been terrible about the eating - but I definitely need more fruits and veggies. These will start getting more and more abundant though. I'm not sure where you're all at, but in my area there are community gardens for apartment dwellers so that we can rent a little patch of land and grow some good food. I pay $10 for a 25' x 30' plot. Last year I grew a bunch of tomatoes, green beans, peppers, onions and radishes - not to mention some beautiful zinnias. I felt like a rich woman, always having fresh cut flowers around my apartment. If you have the time and can find a space, I highly recommend a little bit of gardening - even if you only have a few pots on your patio. Nothing better than some fresh brushetta from your own tomatoes!
On the exercise front, I actually ran today. I REALLY am going to schedule myself to run three days a week, with one longer run on the weekends. Today I did a mile running and a mile walking - my asthma was kicking in otherwise I might have done both miles running, but I have to start somewhere. That to me has been the worst part about getting back into shape - it's so hard when you're so out of shape to begin with.
In response to Kia's mention of real women that inspire, I always liked Kate Winslet. I love her curves. I definitely do not have the body build to be a twig, and being 5'9" I tend to be able to hide weight gain a little bit better. Which is a bad thing, but I have been slowly shedding weight.
This week I'm still at 225, although I think my jeans are a little bit looser again. I may not have lost weight, but I'm feeling better, especially with summer weather heading in.
I'm making ice cream cone cupcakes tomorrow to celebrate a close friend getting a job, but aside from the one cupcake, I'm planning on being pretty good eating wise this week.
Goals:
1. Don't eat lots of non-nutritious food.
2. Run/walk 2 miles, three times this week.
3. Run/walk 3 miles once this weekend.
4. Bust out the grill and start cooking up lots of tasty veggies - with grilled pineapple for dessert - yum!
Best of luck this week ladies! Keep up the hard work!

Renting a garden is one of the neatest things I've heard of... how cool! I hope to have a house soon so maybe I can finally have my garden. Good luck with your goals!
