Like Kia, I slipped a bit with the healthy eating this weekend. My boyfriend's father passed away in Feb., but they do not do winter burials in Northern MI. So the actual burial was this past weekend. Like the funeral, there was comfort food, and I was not the cook for the rest of the weekend. I didn't eat near as well as I should, and had several more sweets (several cookies, an extra piece of carrot cake, etc) than I needed.
So today I decided it was a new week and I'm starting out fresh. I had my usual bowl of special K for breakfast (one of the flavored ones, not the regular stuff). For lunch I had a huge salad with chicken, chick peas, lots of veggies and Italian dressing. I think I'm going to make some homemade turkey meatballs and pasta for dinner.
One thing I did learn this weekend with the bad eating is that my body is no longer conditioned for it. On the drive up north we stopped at a McDonald's because we needed dinner. I had some chicken selects, fries and a shake. I couldn't finish it all - and only made it half way through the shake before I started feeling icky - which goes to show how much better I have been eating in the last few months. So at least that was a positive thing from this weekend.
I did gain a pound over the last week, but I figure that if I eat better and run three times this week that I'll take it right back off again. I'm still super excited that I've lost 20 (well, 19 as of now) pounds so far, but I still have a long way to go before I get to my goal, so I keep reminding myself about it. I have the ability to eat lunch for $4 every day in a cafeteria on campus, which is cheaper than buying a lunch unless I have leftovers from the night before. I just need to make sure I'm eating well.
Also, does anyone want me to post some more recipes? I have a few good ones, but I'm not sure what types of food everyone likes to eat. Just let me know and I'll post some good ones.
Goals for this week:
1. Eat healthier again!
2. Run 2 miles, three times this week. Do not let rain be an excuse.
3. Clean out my apartment from finals week
4. Start planting my garden with slightly cold-tolerant plants until frost danger is over (peas, radishes, carrots and some of the heartier herbs and flowers)
Good luck with goals this week everyone! Remember, if you fall off the wagon, all you have to do is start better tomorrow.

I'm very sorry about your boyfriend's dad... that's a very hard situation.
And you should be very pleased with your weight loss. Even tho you want to lose more, you have accomplished a difficult goal. Good luck with the workouts this week! And I love any kinds of recipes!
