Taking the plunge

So I've decided that in order to make myself really taking working out seriously, it's time to invest - both money and time.

For Christmas my brother said he would pay my entry fee for a half-marathon anytime this year, I just had to pick which one. So I've signed up for one in October, which gives me 6 months to get back into running shape. I've been there before, I know how to do it, now I just need to make the effort. I'm nervous, but I figure it's best to jump in with both feet rather than dipping in a toe.

Here's hoping that I don't fall flat on my face!

I bow in awe!! 13 miles - in one run? I'd have to be chased for my life to have that happen - I admire your moxy!! And, the best part is - it'l be free to you!! I always find that it is easier to have a goal to focus on. Choosing a 5k will motivate me to get to the gym. This will definitely help you get to your goals!!

Keep us posted!

WOW! An old roommate of mine was a marathoner and I've been to several half marathons (as a cheerleader only) and can't imagine running it! Walking, sure, okay, but GOOD LUCK! It's totally doable (so I hear) with enough work, and in six months, think about all the cute running clothes you'll have! I mean...what great shape you'll be in?

Best of luck to you!
